"Years ago, there used to be a fast food restaurant in Toledo called Uncle Sam's Hamburgers. If memory serves correctly, the Main location was on Broadway near Western in South Toledo. Anyway, if it's the same statue, it stood in front of the restaurant. The gesture I believe is supposed to be a finger saying come here as in come here to eat. After the restaurant went out of business, the statue was moved to a field out along west Airport Highway, I believe sometime in the late 70's or early 80's."
